Making Payments on Sponsored Projects

Learn about making payments on sponsored projects at Columbia University.

Details

Sponsored projects are paid either electronically (preferred) or by check. Whether you’re attempting to make a payment as a sponsor or in receipt of a sponsor’s payment and attempting to have it applied to the correct sponsored project, please follow the guidance in the Getting Started section below.

Payments related to Sponsored Projects Finance (SPF) should be made electronically, where possible, to "The Trustees of Columbia University in the City of New York" via the Sponsored Projects Finance account with Wells Fargo. Banking information and required payer forms can be obtained from and submitted to the department’s assigned SPF Finance and Compliance Manager. If you are uncertain who that is, please view the SPF Department Assignments List under Staff Directories.

Checks related to Sponsored Projects Finance (SPF) should be forwarded to the SPF lockbox address along with all additional documents rather than to other business areas at the University.

The lockbox address is provided below. Note that the lockbox only accepts USPS; it will not accept express services like FedEx or other air couriers.
