Procurement or purchasing cards  (P-Cards), are credit cards that are used to purchase common, low-dollar value goods. While P-Cards may not be a viable payment option in all international locations, they can serve as an option during short trips. Before applying for one, make sure that they are an acceptable form of payment in the intended country. P-Cards:

→ Can be set up with certain controls, such as transaction dollar limits; 

→ Transactions must be approved by an administrator and transactions must be limited to authorized business expenses;

→ Bills are paid centrally by the University, not through a reimbursement process; and

→ All requests for P-Cards must be managed through the department's New York-based administrative office.
