Sponsored Projects Finance
General Management Guidelines Responsibility for the proper administration of sponsored project awards rests primarily with the principal investigators. While the University recognizes that departmental administrators and others with grants management responsibilities play a significant role in managing and administering research funds, the principal investigator remains ultimately responsible for ensuring that grants are managed, funds are expended and effort is reported appropriately. Personnel involved in sponsored projects administration are expected to consult the Sponsored Projects Handbook during the day-to-day administration of sponsored projects and apply the principles described therein, as well as stay abreast of updates. Getting Help and Information Please contact your designated SPA Project Officer or SPF Project Manager directly with questions. For a listing of SPA/SPF contacts, see SPA Project Officer assignments by department or SPF Project Manager assignments by department. Generally, your SPF PM should be the contact for your department on questions related to post-award financial management and reporting, and your SPA PO is the contact for any pre-award, account setup and subaward inquries. Please see below for a breakout of responsibilities between SPA and SPF.
